A recent study (Madrid & Morales, 2023) has assessed the emotional well-being of mothers of children with obstetric brachial plexus injury during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study found that most mothers had moderate symptoms of depression and anxiety, but also high levels of satisfaction with the social support received, despite the low number of helpers. Participants also had high quality of life and health in areas such as physical function, physical role, general health, social function, emotional role, and mental health, but moderate levels of quality of life and health in vitality. These findings provide evidence on the mental health of primary caregivers of children with PBO during the COVID-19 pandemic in Spain. In addition, the results highlight the importance of social support in the adjustment of these caregivers and their emotional well-being.
